All 6 tracks on this EP began in the same way: An extended sample was set as the cornerstone, with the rest of the instrumentation composed around and on top of it.

The first half of the split features three tracks produced by Robinson Crucial. Eternally beholden to the gods of early 90s UK rave, Robinson fashioned these three tracks as honest offerings to be placed affectionately at their alter. Written and recorded many years ago and rediscovered while replacing a hard drive. Cleaned up and mastered in 2021 with help from Kevin Ingham.

The second half introduces the first three released tracks by Soft Vacuum Quintet, an informal ensemble comprising string quartet, trumpet and sound design elements. On this EP the group performs compositions by Benjamin Lexus, largely written and recorded at Millay Colony for the Arts, Austerlitz, NY, with additional recording done by Martin Kutnar in Zagreb, Croatia.
